RosstonPublished Wednesday, January 5, 2000 in the Nevada County PicayuneMarguerite Williams Sympathy to the family of Vada Mathis and Mark Lambert. The Mathis funeral was Monday in Cale and Lambert's funeral was Monday in Harmony. Roscoe, Dot Broussard and I went to the Brazzel/Cornish Funeral Home Sunday night after church. Earnestine Benefield was carried by ambulance to Medical Park Hospital in Hope on Friday morning. The report today (Sunday) is that she is much improved. Visitors in church today were the cloud family who recently bought the Pete Morman home and Kelly Hardin and her two sons. We were happy to have them and welcome them back. Wednesday night is visitation night. If you can't go, pray for those that do go. Work will soon start on our parsonage. There is lots to do and our men plan to do what they can. My brother and his wife, Billy and Minnie Ella Schmitt of Hope, were our guests on New Year's Eve night. We had supper at the Crossroads and then watched TV until midnight. Roscoe's aunt, Allie Mae Williams Martin of Shreveport, passed away this week. Roscoe, Aunt Elsie Williams, her daughter Sue Hart and I attended the funeral. Please remember these families that have lost loved one in your prayers. Wayne and Tommie Lew Jarvis went to Houston, Tex. to visit Pat and family. Wayne was sick and had to return home early. Tommie Lew also has the flu. Mona Dixon has been sick with the flu, also. There is so much sickness everywhere. Jack Hart of Dallas, Tex. visited us and other relatives in Rosston on New Year's day. Maxine Luck will go back to her doctor in Little Rock this week. She is slowly improving. Louise Dillard has been off work most of the week with the flu, but she plans to go back to work Monday.
