BodcawAline ClausPublished Wednesday, January 5, 2000 in the Nevada County Picayune Happy New Year to all. We've made it so far so good. Bodcaw had a watch night service on New Year's Eve. There were singing, preaching and eating a good time was had by all. Happy birthday to all and those of our church, who are Scott Baker, Racie Poindexter and Gerald Hamm. Ted and Joyce Purtle of Round Rock, Texas, spent Christmas with Joyce's mom, Norris Daniels. Then, on Christmas Day, Ted brougth his mom, Louise Purtle of Hope, to spend the day with them. They sure made two moms happy. Herman and Wanda McKelvy came for a visit on Sunday afternoon. Did you have your blackeyed peas and ham hocks on New Year's Day. I hope so. Then you will have plenty all year. Jack and Sunny Daniels invited Tammy and Norris Daniels and Jonathan Kimble to eat peas with them and I hear Jack made squirrel stew. Way to go! Little Hayley Thomas is to go to a doctor in Memphis for a check-up on her eyes. She is the daughter of Brint and Beth Dorman Thomas and the granddaughter of Curt and Maryanna Dorman.
