Recycling Begins With SeparationPublished Wednesday, January 5, 2000 in the Gurdon TimesSeparating your plastic, glass and aluminum containers is only part of the recycling cycle. "Buying recycled closes the recycling loop. Taking your materials to the curb or to the recycling center is only the first step in recycling," said Suzanne Hirrel, a waste management specialist for the Cooperative Extension Service, University of Arkansas.
