Several students from this area have made the chancellor's list and dean's list at the University of Arkansas Community College at Hope for spring semester.

Those on the chancellor's list are Nancy White, Nicole Simon, Cornelia Vansickle, Steven Sheets, Krissy Niemeyer, Scott Tosch, Kenneth Russell, Melanie Reitzell, Wanda Neal, Anita Foster, Lisa Dougan, Brandi Jester, Melissa Langston, Catherine Marcum, Tara Malone, Cynthia Goodwin, Amy Farrar, Joseph Dougan, Brenda Brantly and Glara Gulley.

Making the dean's list were Patty Smith, Tina Walker, Jheon Norvell, Mildred Scott, Tamra Marlar, Melinda Johnson, Laura Cutler, Jill Butler, Jeremy Kretz, Amber Glass, April Carlton, Casey Curtis, Julie Clements, Daniel Clements, Steven Inlow, Frances Fry, Charles Downs, Chris Finigan, Stacy Callicott Miranda Harris, Dawnda Bellas, Betty Almond and Alicia Gulley.

Caroline Belle Marshall of Prescott joined 166 other candidates for the doctor of medicine degree from Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas, Tuesday, May 25.

Commencement exercises were held in the Jesse H. Jones Hall for the Performing Arts. Malcolm Gillis, Ph.D., president of William Marsh Rice University, delivered the address.

Following the administration of the oath of Hippocrates and the conferring of degrees by Baylor College of Medicine president Ralph D. Feigin, M.D., Michael E. DeBakey, M.D., presented diplomas to the 167 graduates.

Marshall has been accepted into the Internal Medicine Residency Program of Baylor College of Medicine affiliated hospitals in Houston. She begins her residency training this month.

Marshall earned a bachelor of science degree in biology from Duke University in Durham, N.C., in 1995 and is a 1991 highest honor graduate of Prescott High School.

She is the daughter of Carol Marshall of Prescott and the granddaughter of Ed and Ora Wiley of Prescott.

Making the dean's list from South Arkansas Community College in El Dorado for the spring semester is Rachel A. Featherston of Prescott.

Students are placed on the dean's list if they earn a grade point average of 3.00 or higher on 12 or more semester hours completed during a regular semester.

Gloria Susan Santifer was one of 124 students who graduated from Texas A&M University in Texarkana, Texas, on May 14.

Santifer is the daughter of Nellie Jewel Edwards of Prescott.

Among those attending from this area were Mrs. Edwards, Bob and Inez Russell, Donna Mullins and Logan Hasley.
