Gurdon city council meeting for January will be rescheduled for the third Monday, January 17, at 7:00 p.m. City council meetings are open to the public.


St. Paul A.M.E. Church, 1501 Caddo Street in Arkadelphia, will have a Bible study on 'Women in the New Millennium.' It will be presented for women by women. The four-part series began Tuesday. The next lesson will be January 11 from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. Guest teacher and missionary Beverlyn Williams will teach the class. The other two classes will be taught by evangelist Carolyn Crow on January 18 and 25 from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m.


The Arkansas Rehabilitation Services will be holding sessions on January 13 and 27 from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the Gurdon Municipal building. Call 353-2514 for an appointment.


Ordination services for Rev. Joe Crow and evangelist Carolyn Crow will be held at Carrie Street Church of God January 9 at 3:00 p.m.


Registration for the 2000 spring semester of classes at Ouachita Baptist University will be held Tuesday, Jan. 11, from 8:15 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. in Evans Student Center and Life Hall. Classes begin Jan. 12.


Revival 2000 at East Whelen Springs Baptist Church continues through tonight (Wednesday, January 5), at 7:00. Guest speaker will be Bro. Chuck Downey, evangelist.

Central Arkansas Development Council (CADC) has begun accepting applications for the fiscal year 2000 Crisis Intervention Energy Assistance Program. Applications are being taken at Senior Citizen Adult Center in Arkadelphia from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays, and at the Gurdon Senior Adult Center from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Tuesdays.


The city of Gurdon reminds residents the storm sirens are tested every Wednesday at 12:00 noon. Sirens are not tested during inclement weather.


Gurdon Lions Club is now able to begin collecting old eye glasses. The collection point in Gurdon is First Baptist Church or you can call Charles Shaver at 353-4640.

Old glasses are recycled by Lions International.


Gurdon Masonic Lodge 187 meets the first and third Tuesday of each month. All members are urged to attend.


Alcoholics Anonymous meets on Wednesdays and Sundays at 8:00 p.m. at the American Legion building, Highway 67 North, one mile out of Gurdon.
