Howard 'Peck' Ghormley

Howard 'Peck' Ghormley, 87, of Sutton died Wednesday, December 22, 1999, at Heather Manor North Nursing Home in Hope.

Mr. Ghormley was born May 26, 1912, in Sutton to Robert Elmer and Carrie Yates Ghormley. He was a retired truck driver from the Arkansas Highway Department. He was a member of Harmony United Methodist Church and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and the Korean Conflict. He was preceded in death by two brothers, McRae Ghormley and J.W. Ghormley and by two sisters, Erma Lee Lambert and Lucille Armstrong.

Survivors include his wife, Elsie Ghormley of Sutton; one son, Charles Ghormley of Hope; one daughter, Jo Ann Wren of Texarkana; and five grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Funeral services were Friday, December 24, at Harmony United Methodist Church in Sutton with Rev. Jerry Westmoreland officiating. Burial was in Harmony Cemetery under the direction of Brazzel-Oakcrest Funeral Home of Hope.
