Happy New Year to everyone.

We had our Christmas Sunday with our son, Willie Hugh, and his family. Our great grandsons were here. I had almost forgotten how much fun Christmas is with kids.

Those spending Christmas and visiting Cathryn, Pete and Jimmy Joe Jester during the week were Darlene Young and family, Denise Stubbs and family, Elsie Elmore and Winderleen Jester.

Those having Christmas dinner with Everett and Mary Orren were Jim and Bobby Minor, Jim and Leann Meador, Huey and Freddie Garner, Dale and Chloe Orren and Johnny and Ann McGuirt. Others visiting later were Robert and Sharla Orren and Linda, Lyle, Craig and Aaron Brooks of Macon, Ga. They plan to spent this week.

Phillip, Toni and Matthew Kirkpatrick of Glen Rose visited Willie and me and Elsie Elmore. They brought us both a nice basket of goodies.

Those having Christmas Eve supper with Paul and Robin Ridgell were Criss and Liz Egger, Holly and Brian and Braith Egger. They all visited Talithia Egger in Hillcrest Care and Rehab during the holidays.

We are so sorry Joe Wren had surgery on a blood clot and spent the Christmas holidays in ICU at St. Michael in Texarkana. Get well soon, Joe.

On Christmas Eve and Christmas Day Mildred Johnson of Boughton celebrated her 90th birthday. Among the 60 people who attended were all five of her children, 13 of her grandchildren, 16 of her great grandchildren and one of her great great grandchildren.

Attending the celebration were Dickie Johnson of Boughton; Samantha Haynie and Brad Haynie of Lamar; Charlotte and Elmer McArty, Tammie and Melissa McArty of Gurdon; Clinton and Joyce Johnson and Jennifer of Prescott; Marcus and Michelle Johnson of Dayton, Ohio; and Amber and Keith Miller with Lindsey of Prescott; and Jeremy Johnson of Blevins; Jack and Georgia Johnson of Morris, Ill., Jacqueline and Jeff Snyder, Katie and Jerry of Verona, Ill., Becky and Dale Dechausse and Brandon of Morris, Ill., Douglas and Carroll Johnson of North Little Rock; Jackie and Melissa Johnson, Alex and Christopher of Jacksonville; Cheryl and Carey Toby with Elie of Van Buren; Theresa and Mark Witcher and Taylor of Jacksonville; Joyce and Mason Boone of El Paso, Texas; Nathan Boone of Lubbock, Texas; Kennady and Skylar Boone of El Paso, Texas; and Barbara and Greg Haire and Lauren of El Paso, Texas.

Other immediate family members present were Gay and Don Shelton, Tammie Shelton, Michelle Shelton and Maria and Nicholas all of Hope.
