I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas. I was able to be with most of my children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. I hope that most were mindful of Christmas's greatest gift, our savior, Jesus Christ.

The Gurdon Senior Adult Center opened back up Tuesday, but it will be closed December 31 for New Year's Day.

We enjoyed a good Christmas dinner on Thursday of last week and the ones with December birthdays enjoyed a delicious birthday cake donated by Thomason's Big Star.

Those with birthdays were Mary Dixon, Louise Stinnett, Mildred Welch, Bertha Williams, Syble Harris and Lillie Gill.

The 4-H children sang Christmas songs for us on Wednesday, December 22.

Thanks go to all of those who contributed in any way to the center. We especially want to thank the Cabe Foundation, Austin and Mary Lou Capps, and our volunteers who have donated their time.

The center is a program of Central Arkansas Development Council and a United Way agency.
