Zion Baptist Church of the city will be holding a watch meeting service on December 31 beginning at 10:00 p.m. It will be family and friends night. Everyone and all churches are welcome. Rev. Harris, pastor. Billie Hunter, son of Mrs. Mary Hunter, of Gurdon is in a Little Rock hospital. Odray Anderson of Smithton is also in the hospital in Little Rock at this report. Harvey McCelland of Smithton is out of the hospital. The children of Jim and Odessa Hatley of the city visited their parents and grandmother, Mrs. Mae Cook, from Battle Creek, Mich., Mr. and Mrs. Leon Buford and family, Ms. Brendel and Dianne Hatley, Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Hatley and family of Texas over the holiday, also their sister, Barbara Keaton and family; aunts, Christene Beard and Erma Buford of Burtsell community, other relatives and friends. Mrs. Gussie Mae Kellibrew of Omaha, Neb., visited her sister, Andy and Christine Hatley and family; her brother, Henry Bell, and Henry Bell Jr. and family, other relatives and friends over the holidays. The children of Andy and Christine Hatley of Beirne visited their parents, other relatives and friends during the holidays from all over the state and out of state. Minister Benny Welch of Osceola is here visiting his parents, Joe and Hazel Welch of Gurdon, along with other relatives and friends from surrounding areas for the holidays. Laura Grigsley of Burtsell spent the holidays in Hot Springs with her son, Hura Dean, and Brenda Grigsley, granddaughter, Sholanda and son, grandson, Reggie Grigsley of Texas, other relatives and friends. Valree Smith spent the holidays with her son and family, Fred and Geneva Shells, along with grandson, Bryan, and daughter, Alicia Shells, of Little Rock. Vanessia and W.B. Russey of Gurdon were visited during the holidays by their children; Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Booker and family, Milton Golden of Dallas, Texas, and Mr. and Mrs. Ivory Roberts Jr. of Prescott, other relatives and friends. The children of Floyd and Marque Gatlin of Gurdon came to visited during the holidays. Visiting were Mr. and Mrs. Ken Bryant of Little Rock, Mammie Hodge and daughter of Ft. Worth, Texas, Mr. and Mrs. Odray Anderson Jr. and family of Gurdon, Sam Gatlin of Burtsell, other relatives and family. Phillip and Johnnie Allen of Gurdon were visited by their children, grandchildren of Little Rock, other relatives and friends this holiday season. Mr. and Mrs. David Brown and family of Dallas, Texas, visited their parents over the holidays; Mr. and Mrs. A.B. Brown of Smithton; along with his brother, Andrew Brown and family, other relatives and friends. Rose Crow, her daughter, Valerie Crow, and granddaughter, Courtney of Gurdon visited her sister, Emma and Robert Cornelius and family in Crossett; along with other relatives and friends over the holidays.
