Alcoholics Anonymous, a fellow-ship of men and women who wish to stop drinking, meets every Tuesday at 8:00 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church.

Al-Anon, for those affected by another's drinking, meets Thursday

evenings at 8:00 in the church. For

A representative of the Texarkana Social Security office will be at the Nevada County Courthouse Wednesday, December 22; Thursday, January 27, Thursday, February 24 and Thursday, March 23.

Supplemental security income (SSI) pays monthly checks to people who are aged, disabled or blind and who do not own much or have much income. SSI is not just for adults. To find out if you are eligible, call 1-800-772-1213.


Prescott Rotary Club will sponsor a person to join a group study exchange with Turkey. Team members will stay with Rotary families while in Turkey. They will make presentations about Arkansas at local Rotary Clubs, learn about Turkey and spend vocational days seeing how their job is done in another part of the world.

To qualify you must be 25 to 40 years old and active in your profession for at least two years. Rotary International will pay travel expenses.

On December 26 beginning at 11 a.m. Mt. Ephesus Baptist Church will be having a memorial service for all members who have passed. All family members and friends are invited.


Clay and Betty Wingfield of Prescott announce the birth of their son, Eric Thomas, born Sunday, December 5, 1999. The baby weighed eight pounds. He was 21= inches long.

Grandparents are Jim and Donna Wingfield of Prescott and the late Lew Wingfield and Altamae Kirkpatrick of Magnolia.

Eric was welcomed home by his brothers, Will and Patrick.


Kamisha Purifoy and Travis Haynes of Hope would like to announce the birth of their daughter, Kamiyah Shontravia Haynes, born Tuesday, December 14, 1999, at Medical Park Hospital in Hope.

She weighed 7 pounds and 4 ounces and was 19< inches long.

Kamisha was welcomed home by big brother, Terrence, maternal grandparents, Carl and Rae Purifoy of Prescott, and paternal grandparents, Rev. and Mrs. William Haynes of Hope. She was also welcomed home by her Aunt Renee and Aunt Jasmine Purifoy and cousin T'atrique.
