We are getting plenty of rain, but it is hot.

Bro. Jeff Wiegand of South Fork Truck Stop Ministry in Gurdon preached at Boughton Church Sunday.

Everett and Mary Orren and son Dale Orren went on a little vacation last week. They went to Graceland in Memphis, Tenn., spent one night with Bobby House of Middletown, Tenn., and also visited with his daughter. Then he toured some civil war battlefields, the Natchez Trace Parkway and other points of interest.

Jim and Wanda (Lucas) Long had a new granddaughter born recently to their daughter Lisa and her husband. Alice Lawrence is the great grandmother.

J.D. Kelly and Lawner and Arleen West visited Roy and Syble Brown during the week.

Willie and I visited Doris Ridgell and Mary Perkins, Neil and Hazel Meeks and J.D. and Mary Ann Lucas during the week.

Doris Ridgell returned to Fort Worth Sat. She was accompanied by her son Paul Ridgell and his sons, Michael and Ben. Paul, Michael and Ben were also going to Six Flags over Texas and visit with Terry and Boletta Crabtree.

Evan and Gayle Cook of Pasadena, Texas, spent the weekend with Wanda and Vernon Steven and other relatives. Gayle's mother, Mary Perkins, returned home with them after spending several weeks here with her sister Doris Ridgell.

Herbie Ridgell spent Thursday night in the VA hospital in Little Rock for some tests.

Ruth Newth visits Louise Crayne often. Louise is doing as well as expected with her broken hip.
