Thomas Edwin Cobb

Thomas Edwin Cobb, 63, of Hope died early Sunday morning, December 12, 1999, at Medical Park Hospital in Hope.

Mr. Cobb was born July 7, 1936, in Columbus. He was preceded in death by his parents, S.V. and Myrtle Cobb, and by a brother, Bobby G. Cobb. He was a member of the Anderson Baptist Church of Springhill. He was a U.S. Marine veteran and a retired employee of Smith Funeral Home in Stamps, where he was a licensed funeral director and embalmer.

Survivors include two daughters, Kathy Cobb and Kim Cobb, both of Hope; fours sons and two daughters-in-law, David and Karen Cobb of Prescott; Douglas Cobb of Clear Lake, Calif., Duane Cobb of Hope and Myles and Debbie Helmick of Emmet; one brother, Jerry Cobb of Hope; three sisters, Valdean Turner, Gay Gibson and Jan Bush, all of Hope; three daughters; nine grandsons; and a host of nieces and nephews who were all special to him.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, December 14, at the Herndon Funeral Home Chapel in Hope with Rev. Jerry Westmoreland officiating. Burial was in Westmoreland Cemetery under the direction of Smith Funeral Home of Stamps.
