Karen took her. They went to the mall and bumped into two old friends, Margie Reed and Cecilia Carmel. Ricky and Angela Hopkins are proud to announce the new arrival to their family, Timothy Patrick, weighing six pounds and ten ounces. He was born Thursday, December 2. Sister, Elizabeth, and brother, Blake, along with grandparents, David and Patricia Kirkham, Donnie and Helen McGalliard, from Gurdon, great grandparents, Ruth Thompson and Hazel Hendrix, from Prescott and Eula Dinger of Murfreesboro are also very proud of him. There were several from our community who enjoyed the family support day at the Prescott National Guard. Those attending were Pvt. Tony Overton and his family members, Aaron Morton, Larry Overton, Tom Cornelius and myself; Pvt. Randy Hopkins, his wife Maggie and their children, David, Donald and Jessica; Pvt. Jason Morrow; Rachel Dougan; Pvt. Seth Collins; and Brittany McCauley. We all enjoyed a Christmas dinner, which was prepared by some of the privates. It was great. There were door prizes and sacks for the kids. Sen. Mike Ross was present and gave a speech. George Cornelius and Karen Cobb visited with Tim Bates last week. Tim's mother, Ann Bates, passed away. Lonnie, Julie and David Huntley spent a week at Lubet, Texas, helping with the moving of Julie's mother. Her mother has moved into a smaller place. Joe and Doris Burke celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Sunday at the Prescott Housing Authority. Way to go, you two. Many more to come. Billy Roy and Judy Martin visited with Flossie Martin at Hillcrest. Saturday night Margie Johnson was the center of attention of her family with a outing for her a birthday supper. Those celebrating with her were her parents, John and Lenora McWilliams; her daughter, Amber Pickett, and her husband, Tommy. Aaron Morton and myself visited with my parents, J.W. and Maxine Glass. I was sure shocked when I arrived. They had taken my dad to the emergency room that morning, finding out he has the flu. He is doing fine. We enjoyed putting up the Christmas tree and lights on the house. Ruth Thompson had a supper for her family Saturday night. Those attending were her sister, Margaret Pyle; her nephew, Stephen, and his wife, Loretta, from Dickerson, Texas; Hazel Hendrix; Julia Taylor of Lonoke; and David and Patricia Kirkham. Johnny, John, Stephen and Brittany McWilliams from Springdale visited with John and Lenora McWilliams. John did some deer hunting during his visit. Have a safe week.
