Bluff CityJerry McKelvyPublished Wednesday, December 15, 1999 in the Nevada County Picayune We're finally getting a little rain for which we are thankful. Remember the summer of 1999 next time you start to complain about the rain. Bill and Kay Sellers traveled to Texas a few days ago for the funeral of one of Kay's brothers, Terry Bishop. Our sympathy is extended to Kay and her family. Congratulations are in order for Stacy and Jennifer Hildebrand on the birth of their first child. It was a girl, but I am not sure of the name. I will try to get that information for next week. Stacy and Jennifer live in Atlanta, Texas. Work is continuing at the state park. It looks to me like Mill Creek is being transformed into a winding stream as it enters the park. I hope the floods hold off until they get the work completed. I have heard that some people around Bluff City were seeing stars last week. It seems a celebrity was in our midst. Country music star Trace Adkins stopped by the International Paper Company nursery to buy some pine seedlings. He is originally from Serepta, La. Something to think about from C.F. Kettering: "We should be concerned about the future because we will have to spend the rest of our lives there." I remember my grandmother used to say 'Make haste.' It's time to make haste and get our Christmas shopping done. Ten days and counting. Search | Nevada County Picayune by date | Gurdon Times by date |
