House Leads Lady Jays In Dierks TournamentBY JOHN MILLERPublished Wednesday, December 15, 1999 in the Nevada County Picayune Nevada's Lady Blue Jays posted a 49-43 win in the Dierks Tournament recently, over the host team. The Lady Jays opened the game with a 13-11 lead at the end of one, but the Nevada defense all but shut Dierks down in the second quarter. At the break, Nevada led 25-16, but the Lady Jays went cold in the third period, as Dierks rallied to cut the lead to 30-28. In the fourth it was tooth and nail with the Lady Jays pulling out the victory. Jackie House paved the way for the win with 15 for Nevada, with Alexis Madison on her heels with 14. Simmons was the game's leading scorer for Dierks with 24. Nevada was 17 of 29 at the free throw line, while the Lady Outlaws were five of 12.
