Classy MomentsPublished Wednesday, December 15, 1999 in the Gurdon TimesWe are ready for the holidays. At least we are ready to be out of school for a few days (did I say that?). Students have been so busy trying to complete assignments that they missed due to excused absentees and the teachers have been busy trying to make sure that all students have completed their work. It sometimes gets to be a very busy day. Friday beginning at 8:45, the Cabe Middle School Student Council will present the talent show of the year. Several talents will be shared with the audience. Of course, you are invited. The program will be held in the cafeteria. Parents, if you plan to take any pictures, please let Ann Clingan know so arrangements can be made. Mrs. Hitt's high school choir sang at the capital building on Wednesday last week. We know the audience there enjoyed them. We are very proud of the way the members conducted themselves while representing our school. The Beta Club is sponsoring 'The Quincy Charles Christmas Show' Thursday, Dec. 16, in the high school gym beginning at 12:45 p.m. The admission will be $1. Don't miss out on this one. Quincy is a graduate of GHS and is considered a treasure. Come expecting to be entertained, as he sings like a professional performer. Recipes! Yes, the CD&E Club is still accepting recipes for the cook book. Remember to write a little bit about your days at Gurdon and especially the Gurdon school days, as the cookbook is also a book of memories. You can send those recipes to Billy Wells or to Ann Clingan at Cabe Middle School. This will be a book that will be in great demand. The proceeds from the sale of the book will go for the displays for the pictures of former senior classes of GHS, 'Save the Picture Fund' at First State Bank. Friday, Dec. 17, will bring to a close the first semester of this school year. Where has the time gone? Although time seems to be flying by, we always find the time to say thank you for caring for us as we continue to make those Classy Moments at CMS.
