Encore Visits GHS

Published Wednesday, December 8, 1999 in the Gurdon Times

Encore, a performance group from Southern Arkansas University, entertained the students of Gurdon High School on Wed., Dec. 1.

The students were slow to warm up to the performance, but when they did they were singing along and bouncing in the stands.

Encore is a group of SAU students with mixed majors who perform to promote SAU and learn about mass media and communications with Professor Judy Vasser as their faculty sponsor.

Former GHS student Tosha Keaton performed solo, singing her version of the pop song by Brandi, Almost Doesn't Count.

Everyone found the song, Allstar, by the group Smash Mouth more interesting when one of the SAU performers pulled Tammy Alexander, a teacher at GHS, on the floor to dance.
