Zion Baptist Church of Gurdon will be the special guest Sunday, Dec. 12, at 3:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Selma, celebrating their pastor Rev. Alvin Newborn's first anniversary. Everyone is welcome. Rev. Quintin Radford, pastor and speaker. Rev. Alvin Newborn, pastor. The vans will leave at 12:45 p.m. Funeral services were held Mon., Dec. 6, for Sister Alene Ellis at 1:00 p.m. at Mt. Canaan Baptist Church of Gurdon, Rev. Johnny Harris, pastor. Rev. Daniel Flemons, her pastor, officiating. BoBo Gatlin of Los Angeles, Calif., visited his Uncle and Aunt T.A. Gatlin and family over the holidays. Harry McCelland is still in the hospital. Perry McCelland suffered a stroke, but seems to be doing fair. Marsha F. Hatley and sons, Terrance Giles and Tirrell Nelson, Fred Hatley, Vivian Rhinehart and son, Cameron Rhinehart, Benard Hatley and Sherre Hendrix of Gurdon attended the games of her daughter, granddaughter and niece Alicia Clayborn, Marsha Sow, Erica Hatley, grandson and nephew in Marshall, Texas, Friday and Saturday nights. Funeral services will be held Tues., Dec. 7, at 2:00 p.m. at Harrison Chapel Baptist Church in Delight for the late Gertrude Snowden. Rev. Rufus R. Hatley, pastor, officiating. James Harvey Meeks of Delight underwent surgery and is reported to be doing fair. Arletha Allen and son Larry Allen of Gurdon and daughter Sarah Allen and family visited relatives in Texarkana on Sunday. The third Sunday night fellowship singing will convene with Clayborn Chapel AME Church Sunday, Dec. 19, at 6:30 p.m. Everyone is welcome. Rev. Parbam, pastor. Bro. Leodis Lyons, Bro.
