Abercrombie Head Of Area's Tutoring

Southwest Arkansas Development Council literacy program has a new AmeriCorps Vista Volunteer.

Kriss Abercrombie, who is from Delight, has worked with literacy for more than 10 years. She is a certified supervising tutor trainer in literacy, a certified English as a second language tutor and basic literacy tutor. She received the governor's award for individual achievement for literacy in 1992.

In 1998 Abercrombie received recognition for outstanding leadership and commitment to her community from Vision 2010.

Abercrombie states that she is happy to have the opportunity to serve the people of Nevada County.

If you need tutoring or know someone else who does, call The Learning Center at 870- 887-5536. Regular office hours are 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday. Arrangements for late afternoon and evening classes may be made by calling the above number.

The Learning Center has computers available for your use and many programs available for the tutoring programs.
