Ishmael Thompson

Ishmael Thompson, 75, of Prescott died Tuesday, November 23, 1999, at St. Michael's in Texarkana.

Mr. Thompson was born June 8, 1924, in Toole, Texas, to Louis Birdie Thompson and Julia Hilliger Thompson. He was a carpenter, member of the Union Grove Baptist Church in Blevins, retired from Humble Oil Co., worked on NASA Space Center in Houston, Texas, and was a volunteer firefighter for the East Mount in Houston, Texas.

Survivors include his loving wife of 51 years, Ruth Cagle Thompson; three sons, David Eugene Thompson of Prescott, Daniel Martin Thompson of Hamel, Minn., and Donald Harvey Thompson of Abilene, Texas; two daughters, Patricia Nell Kirkham of Prescott and Julia Lee Taylor of Lonoke; two brothers, L.C. Thompson and Alvis Vernon Thompson both of Houston; three sisters, Ruth Hembree of Houston, Marie Ballard of Hillsboro, Texas, and Jackie Lou Thompson of Texas; 14 grandchildren, eight great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Friday, November 26, at Union Grove Baptist Church with Bro. Ricky Burke and Bro. Chad Brandon officiating. Burial was in Union Grove Cemetery under the direction of Shackelford Funeral Home of Prescott.
