Lions Auction Set Dec. 9, 10Published Wednesday, December 1, 1999 in the Nevada County PicayunePrescott Lions Club will hold its annual auction Thursday and Friday nights, December 9 and 10, from 6:00 to 10:00. On Friday the auction will continue until everything is auctioned. The club expressed its appreciation to all the businesses and individuals who have made the auction possible for the last 26 years. "Without your donations and support, the Lions Club could not have helped the needy and less fortunate people in Prescott and Nevada County that we have," Kay Hendrix, president of the club, said. The money made from the auction is used by the Lions Club to buy Christmas baskets and toys for needy people. The proceeds also help sponsor Little League baseball, buy glasses for children and older people who cannot afford them, help support World Services for the Blind and other agencies that help the less fortunate in our area. Between now and December 9, members from the Lions Club will be asking merchants and individuals to donate for the auction. If you are missed, call 887-2501 or 887-6895 to donate. You will be contacted or your donation will be picked up by a Lions member. Search | Nevada County Picayune by date | Gurdon Times by date |
