Freddie Horne of Gurdon has been selected for membership in the Henderson State University Alpha Delta Chapter of the Alpha Epsilon Lambda National Honor Society for graduate students.

Horne was inducted into membership at a ceremony on the HSU campus on Nov. 11.

Alpha Epsilon Lambda (AEL) recognizes, promotes and fosters outstanding leadership and high academic achievement among graduate and professional school students. In addition, AEL promotes and encourages high ethical standards while providing service to graduate and professional school students and student organizations at HSU.

Membership consideration is based on grade point, academic standings, personal ethics and the demonstration of leadership and service.

Horne received his bachelor of science degree in business administration from HSU in 1974 and completed requirements for teacher certification in 1993. In December he will receive a master of science in education in the field of secondary school administration.

Horne is in his seventh year as business and computer technology instructor for Gurdon High School. He and his wife, Sharon, are life-long residents of Clark County and have a son, Scott, a senior at HSU, and daughter-in-law, Heather.
