Josephine H. Bemis

Josephine H. Bemis, 93, of Prescott died Tuesday, November 15, 1999, at her home.

Mrs. Bemis was born September 22, 1906, in Clarendon to Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Hardy. She moved to Prescott at the age of 5. Mrs. Bemis was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Prescott and for many years was secretary to the superintendent of Prescott Schools. She was preceded in death by Leon Carrington and J.H. Bemis.

Survivors include one son, Ralph H. Carrington of Tyler, Texas, daughter and son-in-law, Jo and R.C. Beaver of Little Rock; four grandchildren, Jennifer Carrington of Tyler, Texas, Elizabeth Campos and husband J.C. of Palestine, Texas, Hardey Beaver and wife Carolyn of Baton Rouge, La., and Joe Beaver of Napa, Calif.; four great grandchildren, Rachel and Chris Beaver of Baton Rouge, La., and Polly and Joshua Campos of Palestine, Texas; three stepchildren, James H. Bemis of Fayetteville, Barbara Ann Duke of Midland, Texas, and Mildred Berry of Niobrara, Nebr.

Funeral services were held Friday, November 19, at First Presbyterian Church in Prescott with burial in DeAnn Cemetery under the direction of Shackelford Funeral Home of Prescott.
