Paul Lamar MannPublished Wednesday, November 17, 1999 in the Gurdon TimesPaul Lamar Mann, age 86 of Hedwig Village, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, Nov. 14, 1999. He was born in Tombelin to Rev. Sydney Baxter Mann and Beatrice Meeks, the fourth of seven children. He served four years in the Navy then began his accounting career at Lion Oil Company in El Dorado. After 30 years of service at Monsanto, he retired, then continued for an additional 10 years as an independent accountant. Paul Mann is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Mary Louise Capps; sons, Dr. Paul Michael of Houston, Texas, H. Dean of Ft. Scott, Kans., and Robert of Pearland, Texas; his daughter, Nancy Adkins of Spring, Texas; his brother Irving of Shreveport, La.; seven wonderful grandchildren and a newly born great-granddaughter. He was an active member of Chapelwood Methodist Church for 37 years. A memorial service was held at Chapelwood United Methodist Church on Wednesday, Nov. 17. A burial service will be held for the family in Gurdon, on Friday, Nov. 19 under the direction of Horne Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family request that a donation be given in honor of him to Chapelwood's Building Fund, 11140 Greenbay, Houston, TX 77024; MD Anderson Cancer Research, P.O.
