Convention Is Set For Arkansas' Cattlemen

Published Wednesday, November 17, 1999 in the Nevada County Picayune

The 41st Arkansas cattlemen's convention will be held November 19 and 21 at the Hot Springs Convention Center in Hot Springs.

The Arkansas Cattleman's Association has been recognized as the largest state cattlemen's association in the world for the past two years with over 17,000 members.

It is very fitting that the convention this year will be held at the new Hot Springs Convention Center, which is the largest convention center in the state.

The trade show, which is one of the largest shows in the tri-state, will open on Friday, the 19th, with over 125 exhibitors. The trade show will be featuring the theme 'Blazing a Trail into the New Millennium,' as will the live cattle drive down Convention Boulevard at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.

Education programs will be offered through the Cattlemen's College beginning at 9:45 a.m. on Friday. After lunch, concurrent sessions will be available with timely topics for top beef producers, and door prizes will be given at each session.

Saturday offers business meetings, Quiz Bowl finals and lots of fun activities. The awards banquet that evening will feature country music star John Conlee, crowning of state beef princess and presentations to outstanding producers.

The convention will close with an inspirational breakfast on Sunday, November 21.
