Fishing Tournament Held June 12Published Wednesday, June 23, 1999 in the Nevada County PicayuneThe second annual Boys to Men and Girls to Women (BM-GW) fishing derby was held at the Hope Fair Park pond Saturday, June 12. The derby started at 8:00 a.m. and ended at 12;00 noon with an awards program. Many nice prizes were awarded to all the participants. A picnic was also held at the end of the derby. Approximately 50 mentees and 20 mentors and other adults were in attendance. The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission depositing 400 pounds of catchable channel catfish in the pond for the derby. BM-GW expressed its thanks to the many sponsors who donated prizes for the derby. BM-GW is a non-profit organization established to help at risk young men and women to avoid the use of drugs, alcohol, tobacco and gang violence and to assist them in becoming productive citizens in our society.
