Mobile Clinic SetPublished Wednesday, November 17, 1999 in the Nevada County PicayuneThe Central Arkansas Veterans Healthcare System will hold a mobile health screening clinic on November 23 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the First Methodist Church in Prescott. The VA mobile health screening clinic will make contact with all veterans, both male and female, to provide free healthcare evaluations, including blood pressure checks, weight, height, blood sugar/glucose and cholesterol screening. Flu shots will be provided for all veterans who come to the clinic. The flu is a major cause of death in people over the age of 65 or with chronic medical problems. The VA mobile health screening clinic team consists of nurses, a social worker and medical administration representatives. In addition to healthcare screenings, the team will answer questions concerning eligibility and assist with applications for VA medical care. All veterans, especially those not currently receiving care at the Central Arkansas Veterans Healthcare System, are encouraged to attend and learn about eligibility and new programs or services available.
