NJHS Girls Off to Quick Start

The Nevada junior girls are off to a strong start, winning their first three games.

Two of the wins have been conference games. Friday night they took a 34-23 conference victory over the Stephens junior Lady Roadrunners.

Scoring for the winners were Stephanie Williams with 10 points; Coneshia Gulley with 8; Regina Lewis 7; Cristi Lambert 4; Tyrunza Heard and Erica Gibson with 2 each; and Fredrick with 1 point.

Previously the junior Lady Jays had defeated Waldo 33-32 for another conference win. They also had a 46-27 victory over Magnolia Walker.

The junior boys, on the other hand, have not played a conference game. They took a 25- 20 victory over Emerson on October 26, but on Tuesday of last week they took a 35-31 loss against Saratoga.

In that game Reco Mixon scored 14 points for the junior Jays to lead everyone in scoring.

Others scoring for Nevada were Adam Gulley with 9 points, Recarlos Robinson scored 6; and Bobby Gulley scored 2 points.

Macuir Hopkins and Keilhan Thomas scored 9 points each for Saratoga; Shorard Green scored 8;Cory Stuart had 5 and Tremaine Vaughn finished with 4 points.
