RosstonPublished Wednesday, November 10, 1999 in the Nevada County PicayuneMarguerite Williams Bro. Jason Goodwin preached a very good sermon Sunday in the absence of Bro. Petie. He is from Magnolia and the grandson of Bro. Rocky Goodwin. Bro. Petie, Laura and boys are on vacation for a few days. Guests in church Sunday were Roy Dale and Pam Elliot and son Troy and Tommy Ray Waters of Willisville and Chris Brazwell, a friend of Chasity Reeves, and Bro. Goodwin had a friend with him, but I did not get his name. A beautiful flower arrangement was placed in the auditorium Sunday in memory of Levergne White's sister, Jenalda Burris, of Kentucky. She recently passed away. Roscoe and I had supper at Catfish King in Hope on Friday with friends, Clifford and Jane Cox, of Hope. On Saturday we went to Texarkana and spent the day with grandson, Marty, and Raegan Williams and their new baby son, Michael Wren. Jeff and Tara Carlton were guests and sang at the singing on Sunday afternoon at the Old Chuck Wagon in Emmet. Roscoe and I attended. We heard some good singing. Afterward we visited my nephew, George Schmitt, and his family of Emmet and then had supper at the Eagle's Nest. Next Sunday we will have our Thanksgiving meal at church. Everyone is welcome to come. It will be potluck. Valeria O'Keefe, daughter Cindy and granddaughter Christy shopped at Texarkana on Saturday. Locleta Bailey's sister passed away suddenly in Willisville one day this week. Her body was at Magnolia Funeral Home, but was shipped back to Amarilla, Texas, where she formerly lived. Sympathy goes out to this family. Jim, Mona and Sue Dixon took Dorothy Dixon to Camden on Thursday and they had lunch at Woods. Jimmy and Booie Williams were our supper guests on Wednesday night. Roscoe cooked steaks on the patio.
