Mrs. Ethel Carman, mother of Bill Carman, had surgery in Texarkana a few days ago. Funeral services for Mrs. Broda Barksdale Griffith were on Friday, November 5, with burial at Ebenezer Cemetery. She had been in a nursing home in Missouri. We welcome the Mark Meador family to Bluff City. Mark and his wife, Becky, have three children, Sean, Bryan and Brandon. I notice evidence of another truck wreck on one of the curves west of Bluff City. There have been several accidents at that location. Highway 24 is a dangerous road to travel and we all need to be careful as we travel to and fro. I finally worked up enough courage to visit the dentist this week and he relieved me of one of my wisdom teeth. Ambrose Bierce says a dentist is a prestidigitator who puts metal into your mouth and pulls coins out of your pocket. I must confess I had to look that word up in the dictionary. Good luck to all those who are trying to kill a deer. Remember to be sure of your target. Some people have to work in the woods even during deer season.
