CaneyRuby WickerPublished Wednesday, June 23, 1999 in the Nevada County Picayune We have lots of sickness in our community. Dock Hicks had a heart attack and is in ICU in St. Michael's. Richard Kale, who now lives in Florida, had a stroke last week and is in serious condition. Don Willis Hicks fell last week and broke his leg in two places. He has other complications and also is in serious condition. Heather Callicott's grandmother, Huey Shewbirt, has been in the hospital this week. She was released Sunday. Heather went up and cooked lunch for her. Lifton Cearley had an aneurysm Saturday evening. She is in ICU in Little Rock. She had a difficult attack, but the doctors are hoping she will be stable enough to make tests Monday and maybe have surgery Tuesday. Several family members and friends, along with Bro. Tal Web, visited her Sunday afternoon. J.W. and Maxine Glass are celebrating 50 years of togetherness. Gathering at their house Sunday were Steve, Deb and Cody Jackson, Pam, Clancy and Hannah Cleveland, Roger and Liz Nunn, Shuntelle and Payton from Hope, Barb Cornelius, Aaron Morton and Tracy and Marsha Bennett. The children are planning an official celebration Saturday afternoon at Morris Baptist Church. All friends are invited. We are proud Wanda Wicker's grandson, Michael, is back home. He plans to move to Benton, where he will be working. Caney Cemetery Association will meet at Morris Baptist Church Monday evening, June 21, at 7:00. This will be a general meeting for all members.
