Brackets Released For State Play-OffsPublished Wednesday, November 3, 1999 in the Nevada County PicayuneThe brackets have been released for the state play-offs, which begin next week. The Curley Wolves will be in the play-offs, but just where won't be determined until after Thursday night's game at Fordyce. Both Fordyce and Prescott are currently tied for first place in the 7AAA Conference. Where Prescott wants to be and where the Wolves need to be is in the number one spot. This, of course is the best spot to be in the brackets in any year. The team with the best record gets the home field advantage until the games are moved to War Memorial Stadium in Little Rock. One bracket pits the winner of the 7AAA going against the fourth ranked team in 3AAA. Presently that is Piggott with a 3-3 conference record and a 6-3 record overall. In the same bracket the number three team from 7AAA will play the second team in the 6AAA, which is Dollarway. The Cardinals are 4-1 in the conference and 4-4 overall. If both teams from the 7AAA should win each game in this bracket, the two teams would meet November 26, the day after Thanksgiving. On the other side of the bracket will be the second best from 7AAA and the fourth best. The second best will play the third best from 1AAA, which is Green Forest, 8-1 overall and 7-0 in the conference race. The fourth best team in the 7AAA will meet winner of the 3AAA, which is Rivercrest in Paragould. Rivercrest is 6-0 in the conference and 7-2 overall. If the two teams from the 7AAA Conference should win the first week they will meet each other the second week. Any way you look at it, it's going to be tough.
