Fair HillBarbara CorneliusPublished Wednesday, November 3, 1999 in the Nevada County Picayune Larry and Janie Morrow was excited to have all their five boys at home with them. It had been 12 years since they were all together. Greg is stationed in Germany; Chris is stationed in Nevada; Jeff lives in Little Rock; and Jeremy and Jason are still at home. Mildred Hill's sister, Flora Milner, her daughter Connie and two sons from Waco, Texas, were in for the weekend. Carter Harris, a resident from Fairview, is back in the nursing home at Hillcrest after being in the hospital at Hope, after suffering a stroke. He is doing fine. John Henry Collins from Memphis visited with Thomas and Ruby Fontaine for the weekend. Julie Stockton has returned home after a nine-day mission trip to Mexico with Central Baptist Church. The trip was enjoyable. It could have been better if she hadn't been sick for two days with the stomach flu. Trudy Wilson visited with Eva and Mary Beth Jones at Hillcrest. Missionary Grove had a hamburger and hot dog cookout Saturday evening. They had a good crowd and plenty to eat. The late Willie and Trudy Treese's family had a family reunion October 23 at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Claude Head. There were approximately 32 other family members who attended. Sunday afternoon I visited with Thomas and Ruby Fontaine. It was a very interesting visit. I got to know a lot of folks around the area. Shelby Hall and sister Emma Hardy had to go to the doctor last week after having earaches. Irene Cornelius, who is in Hillcrest, seems to be doing fine. She is now able to sit in a chair. Thursday evening David and Patricia Kirkham gave their grandchildren a fun party, stuffing scarecrows. Attending the event were David, Donald, Jessica and Blake Hopkins and Brenden Peters. Others, who were there, were Mason McCorkle, Hollie Hawkins and J.D. Sampson. The scarecrows were given to Grandma and Grandpa Thompson and Mamaw and Papaw Kirkham. Lonnie and Julie Huntley returned home after spending a little time in Texas, helping her mother and sister after the loss of her dad. Sorry to hear that Larry Jones was unable to attend church Sunday due to being sick. Eva Jones has returned back to Hillcrest after a short stay at Medical Park. Icilius Steed Holloman and sister visited Wednesday with Thomas and Ruby Fontaine. Shawntell and Hewett Pokorny from Little Rock visited with Dickey Treese this past week. Got anything you would like for me to write about, just give me a call. Have an enjoyable week. Search | Nevada County Picayune by date | Gurdon Times by date |
