Georgia Wren StarkPublished Wednesday, November 3, 1999 in the Nevada County PicayuneGeorgia Wren Stark, 96, of Prescott died Sat., Oct. 30, 1999, at Hillcrest Care and Rehab. Mrs. Stark was born Aug. 19, 1903, in Nevada County. She was a homemaker and an active member of First Nazarene Church in Prescott. She served as secretary of the church and was a kindergarten teacher. While living in Sutton, she said, "These children need to be in Sunday school." With the aid of a neighbor driving her from door to door to recruit children, a Sunday school was started. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lee A. Stark; a daughter, Patsy Stark, and a son, Johnny L. Stark. Survivors include two sons, James E. Stark of Prescott, Kenny Stark and daughter-in-law, JoAnn Stark of Little Rock; daughter-in-law, Kay Stark of Prescott; three grandchildren, Shawn S. Martin of Little Rock; Kim Gordon of Prescott and Jonathan Stark of North Little Rock; four great grandchildren, Colton Hardin, Alexis Hardin, Samantha Gordon and Stacey Stark. Funeral services were held Mon., Nov. 1, at the Nazarene Church in Prescott with Rev. Phil Hull officiating. Burial was in Harmony Cemetery under the direction of Smith Funeral Home of Stamps.
