Charlie Gulley

Charlie Gulley, 93, of Bluff City died Sun., Oct. 24, 1999, at Medical Park Hospital in Hope.

He was born June 25, 1906, in Bluff City to Rufus and Francis Hatley Gulley. He was a retired logger and farmer. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Ophelia Alexander, and his second wife, Stella Mae Gulley, who died in April 1998, one son, Paul C. Gulley, and also two brothers and one sister.

Survivors include two sons, Elder Charlie Lee Gulley of Lancaster, Texas, and Perry O. Gulley of Prescott and Missouri; five daughters, Mary Lee Gulley Cato of Dallas, Texas, Ruby Jewel Gaddis of Texarkana, Texas, Joyce Ann Bowser of Dallas, Texas, Edna Mae McRae of Houston, Texas, and Ruth Ella Purifoy of Bluff City; two sisters, Ruby Trammell of Rockford, Ill., and Ruthie Nelson of Stockton, Calif.; 22 grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren, and a host of relatives and friends.

Funeral services were Thurs., Oct. 28, at Union Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Bluff City with Rev. Fred Walters officiating. Burial was in Union Grove Cemetery under the direction of Brazzel/Cornish Funeral Home of Prescott.
