One Killed 2 Injured in Auto Accident SundayPublished Wednesday, September 13, 1995 in the Gurdon TimesA 76-year-old Gurdon woman was killed and two other Gurdon residents were injured in a two-vehicle collision Sunday afternoon. According to reports from the Arkansas State Police, Troop K, Earl Smithpeters was pulling his 1994 Ford pickup out of his driveway around 5:45 p.m. Sunday. He backed into the path of a 1992 Ford truck driven by 16-year-old Marty Ford of Gurdon, resulting in the accident. Mr. Smithpeters, according to police, was the only one wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident. Ford and Estelle Smithpeters were not. All three were taken to Baptist Hospital in Little Rock, where Mrs. Smithpeters died. The accident occurred about a mile south of Gurdon on Highway 67. It was worked by Cpl. David Fullen.
