Blood Drive Set For Thursday At Gurdon Senior Citizens Center

Published Wednesday, June 23, 1999 in the Gurdon Times

American Red Cross Blood Services and the community of Gurdon will host a blood drive Thursday, June 24, from 3:00 until 7:00 p.m. The blood drive will take place in the Gurdon Senior Adult Center at 410 East Main. Anyone who donates blood will receive a commemorative 'Firecracker 500' t-shirt.

Hospital patients across Arkansas need blood and blood products on a daily basis in order to survive. Cancer patients, burn victims, hemophiliacs and those suffering with sickle cell anemia are examples of this. During the summer months, blood usage will increase due to travel and outdoor activities attributing to more trauma accidents.

This is the perfect opportunity to make a difference in someone's life by taking the time to donate blood. Your one donation may help as many as four people waiting for a blood transfusion.

You must be a healthy person at least 17 years of age and weighing at least 110 pounds.
