This is How the Gurdon Confernce Foes Did Last WeekPublished Wednesday, September 20, 1995 in the Gurdon TimesNashville lost its first game of the season Friday night and has been knocked out of its number one position in Class AA, a position the Scrappers have held since the beginning of the season. Fordyce with its second loss of the season is now out of the top 10 entirely. De Queen, with a 3-0 record, has now moved up to the fourth in the statewide Class AA rankings. The Gurdon Go-Devils, also with a 3-0 record, has yet to cast a shadow on the top 10, even though all three of Gurdon's wins have been very impressive. Stamps, another member of the 7AA Conference, also has a 3-0 record, but is also unranked. This should all change this week as the new season (the conference race) begins. Fordyce will be at Gurdon, De Queen will be at Stamps and Junction City will play at Prescott. Nashville will host Fouke in a non-conference matchup. The Go-Devils have out-scored their opposition 86-23 this year. Now if they just keep up the good work. This is how Gurdon's future opponents fared last week:
Other games of interest to Go-Devil fans: Fouke defeated Lewisville, 24-20, and Mineral Springs beat Dierks, 20-0. And Gurdon fans should be reminded once more that only three home games remain for the season: this week against Fordyce, next week against Stamps and October 27 against Prescott. Go out and support the Go-Devils. Search | Nevada County Picayune by date | Gurdon Times by date |
