Wolves Burn Dragons in 7AA Opener (cont)

same.

However, the ball was captured back at the 30, and that's where the Dragons took over. Look out for Grimes.

Grimes took the ball from Stegall and went 70 yards for the TD. This time the two-point conversion try failed, leaving the final score 34-14.

Of course the biggest quarter for Prescott was the second, when Yates had three TD passes. Passing from Yates and Johnston (the backup quarterback) is good. The Wolves just have to hustle to get under some of them. Nonetheless, this week they could work, if they are combined with the running game. The Wolves would love to see a victory over the Scrappers. So would the fans. Maybe everything will jell.

In addition to Bryant's yardage it should be noted that Stafford gained 55 yards for the Wolves and Montgomery gained 44. This seems to be a good group of offensive players.

Of course the biggest gainer was Junction City's Grimes with 140 yards. He gained 116 of those in the third period.

Prescott was penalized six times against JC for a total of 50 yards. The Dragons were penalized twice for 10 yards.

In all Yates passed nine times for Prescott, completing four. Johnston tried one that fell incomplete.

Stegall attempted six passes and only completed one for five yards. He had one interception.

In addition to that turnover the Dragons lost two fumbles to Prescott, while the Wolves lost a fumble and a blocked kick.

Don't forget the chicken spaghetti supper preceding this week's game. The meal will be served from 4:30 to 7:00 in the Prescott Elementary School cafetorium, just across the street from the football stadium. Let's all go out to support the lighting of the courthouse in memory of John Henry, the late county judge.

And don't forget the halftime program by the Prescott marching band. If you haven't seen it you're missing a good show.
