Board Approves 3 Professional DaysPublished Wednesday, September 27, 1995 in the Nevada County PicayuneOn Tuesday, September 19, Prescott school board approved three additional professional development days for the 1995-96 school year. The approved days are Monday, October 2; Tuesday, February 20 and Thursday, May 30. The Arkansas Department of Education aprpoves additional days of professional development to help school staff meet the many demands of Acts 236 and 846 which direct schools to restrucuture to meet the diverse educational needs of their student population. Students will not attend school on these days. The following are some of the activities that teachers will be working on or participating in during these professional development days: Alternative assessment, cooperative learning, write building level curricula, work on comprehensive outcomes evaluation plans which now serve as the individual school improvement plan; write district-wide academic improvement plan.
