Public School Week Is Set for Oct. 1-7

Arkansas Public Schools Week, October 1-7, is an opportunity for local residents to visit their public schools and show their support for public education. This special week serves to highlight the positive and innovative practices in the school classroom across Arkansas.

Education is the key to Arkansas' future. It is the important link to successful and productive lives for our citizens. Improving our public education system is the responsibility of every resident in a community. This is why it is important for parents, families and the citizens of Prescott to take time out this week to visit their local public schools.

No other country in the world has consistently emphasized education and lifelong learning with greater results than the United States of America. The people of this great nation, this state, and certainly the residents of Prescott have repeatedly demonstrated a strong commitment to providing all children with a quality public education system.

The children of Arkansas represent the future. It is important that every child be provided the opportunity to reach his or her full academic potential and become productive, successful citizens, However, this can only be achieved when a community makes a firm commitment to our schools, our teachers, and most importantly, our children.
