Bye Bye Booze

Published Wednesday, September 27, 1995 in the Nevada County Picayune

Some 37 cases of beer, along with more than 66 pints of whiskey and several bottles of wine, were destroyed early Monday morning at the Prescott-Nevada County Landfill. This alcohol was confiscated in arrests over the past 18 months, according to Prescott Mayor Howard Taylor. It was destroyed under court order. Prescott Police Chief Willie Latin supervised the destruction of the booze, and was assisted by Steve Smiley, a mechanic for the city, and Taylor. Also shown, Bud Gourley, landfill supervisor, and Glenn Avery, operating the bulldozer.
