15th Annual Event Plans Underway for City of GudronPublished Wednesday, October 4, 1995 in the Gurdon TimesPreparations for the 15th annual Gurdon Forest Festival are in full swing as South Clark County gets ready for the big October event. The Festival, one of the largest in the area, will be held on Saturday October, 28 on Main Street in downtown Gurdon. A full card of entertainment has been booked for the bandstand shows that will begin at 9:30 a.m. The parade will begin at 10:00 a.m. and the Grand Opening will be at noon. Special guests have been invited to speak at the opening ceremony and a "Meet the Candidate" political time will be set aside during the program for local and state candidates to speak to the public. Interested political speakers should contact festival coordinator Freddie Horne at 353-2588 for more information. A special warm up show has been planned for Friday night October 27th. Judy King and the country and western band Crosswind will be featured at a street dance after the Gurdon vs. Prescott football game. The band will play from 8:00 p.m. until midnight. The dance will be free to the public. The War Memorial Park Rides midway show will be set up on the 2nd street. More than 60 arts asnd crafts booths have already been reserved for the event.
