Doll Show is Next WeekendPublished Wednesday, October 4, 1995 in the Nevada County PicayuneThe 11th annual Texarkana Doll Show and Sale will be held Saturday, October 14. The show and sell will be held in the YWCA buildng at 3410 Magnolia on the Texas side of the city, beginning at 9:30 a.m. and ending at 4:30 p.m. Barbies, antiques, Raggedy Anns, compositions, bears, old toys, Star Wars, hard plastics, artist dolls, miniatures and more will be displayed and for sale. Admission is $2. Children 12 and under will be admitted free when accompanied by an adult. The show and sale is presented by the Past and Future Doll Club and is eagerly awaited by doll lovers and collectors in this area. The Past and Future Doll Club meets each month in the home of a member and boasts a great array of talent. One member has perfected her own formula for wax dolls and angels and has been featured on the cover of a national magazine. Another member sculps for a well known doll company. One sculps and makes portrait dolls of children from photographs; another owns her own company that makes Santas and Raggedy Ann type dolls. Several members make dolls in mediums ranging from porcelain to papier-mache. Each member of the club has her own favorite or favorites, but all members appreciate all dolls.
