Homecoming Festivities Set

The Gurdon football homecoming parade will be held on Friday, October 27.

The theme for this year's event will be "Save the Best for Last."

High school coronation of the homecoming queen will be at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 24, in the High School auditorium.

The Gurdon High School Student Council invites all businesses, churches and organizations to enter a float or a decorated vechile for competition or advertisement in the parade.

There will be no entry fee this year, and no monetary prizes awarded. Floats will be judged; first, second and third place winners will be awarded wall trophies.

Rules for float, construction areas follows:

  • Name of class, club organization or business on the back of the float;
  • Homecoming theme on both sides;
  • No live mannequins on floats;
  • Float is judged on creativity, orginality, constructioin, appearance and how well it follows the theme; and
  • Cars and trucks must display them and business on vechicle.
Applications may be picked up at Gurdon High School. All applications due Wednesday, October 25, 1995.
