Golden OldiesDoris VancePublished Wednesday, June 30, 1999 in the Gurdon Times The Gurdon Senior Adult Center is a program of Central Arkansas Development Council and is a United Way Agency. Vans run to Okolona and the city, on Mondays, Curtis, Smithson and the city on Tuesdays, Smithson and the city on Wednesdays, Okolona and the city on Thursdays, and Smithson and the city on Fridays. You may call the center to find out about the services we have to offer. The number is 353-2095. Memorials have been given to the center in memory of Pauline Lowe and Bill Logan. June birthdays will be honored on today, June 30. Those with birthdays in June are Ellis Stafford, Gladys Roe, Edna Wilson, Joe Smart, Lora Ross, Pauline Buford, Harrell Everitt, Dorothy O'Hart, Ernest Stephens, Betty Smart, Lee Nelson, Bettye Horne, Gladys Sherman and Shirley Francis. Some of these are on our home delivered route. We wish the best to those who are not able to be out and also to those who will have surgery next week. The fathers were honored on Father's Day. We ladies served them their lunch as the men did we ladies for Mother's Day. We would love to have those 60 and over stop by and see what the center has to offer.
