Gurdon Kids Win At Fest

DeGray Lake Resort Park held the annual junior fishing fest on June 20. Ninety-eight participated with parents and grandparents bringing the total attendance to 220.

Prizes, certificates and trophies were given in the categories of 'biggest fish' and 'heaviest stringer.' The kids were divided into two age groups, five through eight years and nine through 12 years.

Winners from Gurdon include Corben Manzella, first place in the five- through eight-year- old 'biggest fish' category. His fish weighed three pounds and one ounce.

Kyle Berline of Gurdon placed second and T.C. Berline placed third in the 'biggest fish' category for nine- through 12-year-olds. Kyle's fish weighed two pounds and 11 ounces. T.C.'s fish weighed two pounds and eight ounces.

T.C. Berline also placed second in the heaviest stringer for nine- through 12-year-old youngsters. His stringer weighed in at four pounds and three ounces.
