Student Amanda Dougan Names Newpaper

The ninth week of the Prescott Middle School year has arrived and tests are being given this week. Parent-teacher conferences will be held Thursday, October 26, from 2:30 to 9:30 p.m.

School will not be in session on Friday, October 27.

Prescott Middle School has a new publication this year. Jackie Daniels' seventh-period class is publishing a newsletter called Cub Tracks.

The name for the newsletter was chosen from submissions made by the student body. The winning name was submitted by Amanda Dougan. Members of the newsletter staff are Recordo Walker, Larry Peters, Kaylar Sorrells, Rod Hopson, Dennis Hopson, Brian Wicker and Colvin Beasley.

PMS fifth and sixth graders have been raising money for playground supoplies and equipment by selling Pizza Passport Cards. The students will be delivering the cards and collectign money next week.

"The public has been great in purchasing these cards," Jim Gober, PMS principal, said.
