Exciting Recreation Program Set For Youngsters

Clark County Youth Development Center summer recreation program is providing some exciting learning experiences for 50 children, ages five through 12 this summer.

The center is open from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. The program has adult supervision and operates as a daycare for children whose parents are working or enrolled in school, provided that they meet required eligibility guidelines.

Tutorial assistance in math and reading skill is provided daily.

Other activities include arts and crafts, library, nutrition, science, music, indoor and outdoor games and physical fitness exercises. Field trips to local industry and resource person share information and experiments with the children.

The children are provided two snacks and one hot meal each day.

The staff for the program are John Ware, recreational director, Ruby Henry, teacher, Rev. Quintin Radford, assistant recreational director, Floreda Briscoe, teacher, Olivia Williams, aide, Rosie McCray, cafeteria manager, Yvette Anderson, secretary-bookkeeper, Willie Russey, custodian, Tonya Russey, JTPA worker, Eddie Fort Jr., JTPA worker, Earl Briscoe, substitute teacher, and Delores Hodge, center director.
