Two local men have been arrested in connection with an aggravated robbery at Norman's Truck Wash.

According to reports from the Nevada County Sheriff's Office, around 11:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 20, two young men approached a truck driver at the wash, pulled a sawed-off shotgun and a handgun, pointed them at him, took his money and ran.

Jim Westmoreland, criminal investigator for the NCSO and the Prescott Police Department, said a similar incident had occurred recently in Hope. The NCSO, PPD and Hope Police Department worked together to solve the crimes.

The result of their investigation led to the arrest of Larry Faulkner Jr., 18, of Prescott, and Patrick Young, 18, of Prescott. The pair have been charged with aggravated robbery and aggravated assault. Westmoreland said Faulkner is being held in the Nevada County Jail without bail at this time.

Fred Fricks, also of Prescott, was arrested Thursday, Oct. 19, and charged with theft by receiving and felon in possession of a firearm.

Fricks reportedly took a 9 mm semiautomatic handgun to a local gunsmith for repairs, and a former member of the PPD, Teddy Rocco, alertly spotted the suspect and weapon. Rocco called the NCSO, and Fricks was arrested.

Investigation into the incident turned up the weapon had been stolen from the Shell Superstop April 8, 1995.

Dollie Stovall, 87, of Prescott, was injured after stepping in front of an oncoming vehicle Sunday evening.

The incident occurred around 7:30 p.m. Witnesses said the driver of the vehicle involved was unable to avoid Stovall, who stepped into traffic without looking.
